Our editorial standard is to make attraction planning clearer, more practical and easier to assess. This policy describes the principles used for Visit Theme Parks guides and comparisons. It applies to general destination information, attraction coverage and planning advice.
Useful information comes first
A guide should explain who an attraction may suit, what deserves priority and which details a reader must check before traveling. We favor concrete information about location, access, ticket scope, transport, the pace of a visit and relevant restrictions. A list of superlatives is not a substitute for an explanation of the experience.
Comparisons should identify meaningful differences rather than imply that every visitor wants the same thing. Ride intensity, age suitability, indoor and outdoor areas, the time available and travel geography can all change which option makes sense. Descriptions such as “best” or “worth visiting” express an editorial assessment for a stated context, not a universal or scientific ranking.
Sources and verification
Official operator websites, attraction calendars, admission conditions and accessibility information are the preferred starting points for operational details. Relevant public authorities and official transport providers can add context where necessary. A source should support the specific point for which it is used.
A published guide cannot establish live availability. Date-specific operating hours, prices, ticket inventory, ride closures, weather restrictions and transport timetables must be checked with the relevant provider. When an announcement concerns a future attraction or an expected reopening, it should be distinguished from an attraction that is already operating.
Experience, opinion and uncertainty
First-person statements must be supported by an actual experience. A researched guide should not imply that an author personally rode an attraction, stayed in a hotel or visited an animal exhibit unless that is established. Where a detail cannot be confirmed, it should be qualified, omitted or referred to the operator rather than presented as a certainty.
Photographs and illustrations help readers understand a place, but an image does not establish that every depicted facility is open or included in a ticket. Images should correspond to the destination or subject they describe. Illustrations should not be treated as precise maps, engineering plans or official attraction layouts.
Safety, accessibility and animal welfare
Height, age, health, transfer and supervision requirements are set by the operator and may differ between attractions. General planning advice does not override those requirements. For individual accessibility needs, readers should obtain current attraction-specific information directly from the venue.
Wildlife coverage should consider the nature of the experience and relevant welfare or conservation information. The presence of an animal encounter in a destination guide should not be read as a blanket endorsement of every activity offered at that venue.
Updates and corrections
An update date indicates an editorial revision, not continuous monitoring of every detail on the page. Material corrections should address the underlying information and any directly affected recommendations. Older operational information should be revised or removed when a reliable change is identified.
A useful correction report identifies the page URL, the statement concerned and an official source or other reliable evidence supporting the correction. Requests about reservations, refunds or ticket changes belong with the seller or operator that handled the purchase.
Commercial relationships
Affiliate links, paid placements, hosted visits or other relevant benefits should be disclosed clearly where they affect the content. A general policy page does not replace an appropriate disclosure near a commercial recommendation. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the reader-facing explanation of commission links.
